In 1969, a group of prestigious African Americans established an organization that has become a premier resource for minority professionals in accounting and other business related fields. The founders of NABA faced a landscape that invoked them to take action in order to create opportunities for minorities to find their place in the field of accounting.
Although the landscape has changed, there is still plenty of work to be done. Today NABA is a family with over 3,000 professional members, 49 professional chapters and 150 student chapters and a growing network of minority-owned accounting firms throughout the country. We offer our members many benefits including access to a vast network of professionals with similar career goals, continuous professional education sessions, annual conventions and more. NABA addresses the needs of the community by providing financial literacy workshops, income tax preparations through our partnership with VITA and other valuable services. We have a proven commitment in developing opportunities for students. The Birmingham chapter plays a valuable part in carrying out the mission and strategic objectives of NABA. On behalf of the members of the Birmingham Professional Chapter of NABA, thank you for visiting our website. We hope that you find the mission of NABA important and will consider helping us meet our objectives.
